Delaware doctor arrested Print E-mail

Delaware Attorney General Beau Biden has launched a public website and investigation into why a pediatrician was allegedly allowed to sexually abuse more than 100 children over a decade.

"There were jokes among colleagues, who thought [the accused doctor Earl] Bradley had an unusual practice with his carnival-like office filled with toys and a merry-go-round," reports the Associated Press. "...Despite the warnings, Delaware's medical board only recently suspended Bradley's license — after he was arrested."

Colleagues of Bradley’s jokingly referred to him amongst themselves as a pedophile, say media reports. Bradley’s sister, who was also his office manager, says she told police of several complaints she received from parents of the victims. She also claims she took the complaints to the medical society, who denies they received them.

Through all the years, the accusations, the suspicions and complaints, Bradley’s arrest finally came after a 2 year old girl told her mother that he’d hurt her. Authorities report that some of the attacks were videotaped.

Charged with more than 30 felonies, including rape, Bradley is being held in lieu of a $2.9 million bond. His preliminary hearing takes place on Thursday, January 14.
