Maryland state delegate Robert McKee, who served as the executive director of the Hagerstown Big Brothers Big Sisters and adopted a 16-year old girl he met there, has been sentenced to 3 years on federal child pornography charges. He faced a possible 10 year sentence. McKee admitted his guilt and seemed to win the sympathy of U.S. Distict Judge William D. Quarles, Jr. "A reputation is easier to build than it is to repair," Quarles said, according the the Associated Press. Federal prosecutor Bonnie Greenberg allowed McKee to plead guilty to just one count of child pornography possession, asking for 41 months in prison. Greenberg pointed out to the court that McKee, a Republican from Washington County, sponsored child protection bills, including the "Child Protection from Predators Act" in 2008.
