Principal, amnArchitecture
Antoinette Nascimento has over 20 years
experience in architecture and engineering. amnArchitecture was
established in 1997, to provide design services to clients who are
generally underserved in the community and to educate and engage people
to create architecture that is valued and useful.
Architectural projects have included healthcare, laboratory,
academic and residential. Recent noteworthy projects include a shelter
and clinic for homeless youth and preliminary designs for the secure
treatment unit (STU) for juveniles.
Ms. Nascimento has a Masters in Architecture from UC Berkeley, a
degree in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and an
abiding respect for the environment. She makes extensive use of
computer-aided drafting and design (CADD), 3D modeling, green design
and sustainability to best achieve project goals.
Ms. Nascimento is also a youth and family educator for the Oakland
Museum and the founder/director for her local CASA (Court Appointed
Special Advocate) computer giveaway and training program for youth at
risk.
