Child Exploitation Campaign Information

PROTECT testifies before U.S. Senate, April 16, 2008
PROTECT Executive Director Grier Weeks testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee subcommittee on Crime today on the issue of child exploitation. A copy of PROTECT's testimony, together with a formal statement by the Surviving Parents Coalition, can be found here.

The hearing is at 2:00 p.m. EST and can be viewed online live here.

Campaign Overview

PROTECT is fighting in Congress to win desperately-needed funding for law enforcement. The U.S. Department of Justice now knows how to locate and stop hundreds of thousands of child sexual predators... and how to rescue their victims. But less than two percent of these known crimes are being investigated, due to lack of resources. "We are... drowning in a tidal wave of tragedy," says Wyoming Special Agent Flint Waters, "and we don't have what we need to save these children.

Testimony of Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (Video)
If Congress had more people like Debbie Wasserman Schultz in it, America would be a different place. She's the tough mom and politician who--in a single hearing--can cry and make government officials want to cry. Hear Wasserman Schultz talk about the crisis facing America's children, meeting the Surviving Parents Coalition and her legislation, the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2007.

Testimony of PROTECT Executive Director, Grier Weeks (Video)
Grier Weeks, Executive Director of the National Association to Protect Children, testifies before Congress on Oct. 17, 2007. Weeks discusses the U.S. government's failure to act on information that could interdict hundreds of thousands of sexual predators and rescue hundreds of thousands of children. "Now, the 110th Congress has the opportunity to do what the 109th, and this administration, did not: Fight back. Pay what it costs. Disrupt this market. Go get these children."
