1,000 New Dedicated Federal Agents
1,000 new federal agents and analysts dedicated exclusively to investigating child exploitation and other crimes against children. This funding shall be appropriated to the FBI, ICE and the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. Estimated annual cost: $300 million.
2,000 New State and Local Agents
2,000 new state and local investigators and forensic analysts funded through the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force program, together with accompanying funding for equipment, travel, training and other related costs. Estimated cost: $375 million annually.
Forensic Labs
20 new regional forensic computer labs, dedicated exclusively to child exploitation and other crimes against children. Estimated initial cost: $110 million.
Prosecutors
279 new federal prosecutors (3 per district) dedicated exclusively to child exploitation and other crimes against children. Estimated annual cost: $55.8 million.
Accountability
Legislation requiring financial industry, ISPs and telecommunications providers to assist and cooperate with law enforcement; detailed annual accounting of every federal dollar appropriated to combat child exploitation and other crimes against children; reduced law enforcement funding to states who do not take steps to bring their criminal penalties up to national standards and incentives for those who do; clear and strong laws, rules and procedures to govern reporting by members and staff of Congress of alleged child abuse.
