When Little House on the Prairie star Alison Arngrim appeared on Larry King Live in 2005, she made a difficult personal sacrifice. PROTECT was in the throes of its tough California "Circle of Trust" campaign, and Alison knew that without a national spotlight, our long, difficult fight could end in defeat.

She also knew what defeat would mean for countless children who were victims of sexual abuse in the family, children who were being denied equal protection under the law.

Before millions, Alison revealed her own "dark secret" as a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. Her courage, dignity and humor rocked Sacramento and paved the way for landmark legal reform.

Now, Alison Arngrim, one of PROTECT's founders and a national board member, has authored an incredible memoir, "Confessions of a Prairie Bitch." The book chronicles her experiences growing up as one of television’s most memorable characters -- the devious Nellie Oleson -- with behind-the-scenes stories from the set, as well as tales from her childhood in West Hollywood and her headline-making advocacy work.
