Spencer Ray Baker, 33, the man who tried to abduct four girls at gunpoint from two Arizona elementary schools, will be going to the doctor, not jail, says a judge.

Maricopa County Superior Court Judge David Talamante sentenced Baker to three years probation for the crimes, which caused 26 schools to go into lockdown. "I don't think he's a child sexual predator," said defense lawyer Elizabeth Houck, "I think he has delusions." The judge agreed. Jail "amounts to warehousing," said Talamante. "What we need to do is get Mr. Baker some help." Meanwhile, Maricopa County Attorney John Beatty disagreed publicly with the judge. "The victims are definitely scared and want to know when he gets released.... He's definitely a threat. He's a very high risk to re-offend."
