DOJ to A.G.'s: 200 new child abuse images a day Print E-mail
Monday, 21 June 2010 09:00
The U.S. Department of Justice estimates there are 200 new child abuse images and videos put on the Internet a day, and says it has seen a 432% growth in the number of images submitted for identification by law enforcement.

The numbers come in recent remarks by Acting Deputy A.G. Gary Grindler before the National Attorneys General Association. They appear to be a preview of child exploitation statistics the Justice Department will soon report to Congress in its first ever National Strategy on Child Exploitation Interdiction and Prevention. The strategy is mandated by the PROTECT Our Children Act of 2008.
