A West Sussex, England man admitted to making, possessing and distributing child pornography. He used 11 different Facebook accounts to distribute images and videos. He also shared photographs using MSN and email. BBC News reports that "Facebook" said that "people known to be on the sex offenders register were not permitted to use the site, but it relied on police forces to inform it of new offenders." Green was already on the register and had previously served a year in jail for child pornography and "committing acts of gross indecency with children."

Despite the judge saying "These are real children who are abused in order to satisfy the sexual pleasures of you and those who you seek to communicate with." and that the defendant had been "exploiting these children in the worst possible way," Green was only sentenced to 4 years.

The investigation began in Australia and spread to England, Canada, Germany, Switzerland and South Africa.  The FBI was also involved.
