PROTECT member connects dots in local newspaper Print E-mail
Thursday, 11 December 2008 03:22
There are many ways to spread the word about PROTECT. Heidi Thibodeau, a Connecticut member, is doing it through a letter to the editor of her local paper. Thibodeau recently wrote the Manchester Journal Inquirer about a local story of a foster child who was rescued from sexual abuse and exploitation after law enforcement followed the trail of child pornography trafficking to her door. Thibodeau made the crucial connection between child pornography crimes--which are flagrant and easily interdicted--and child abuse prevention.

"What’s needed is money," writes Thibodeau, "and [PROTECT] was recently instrumental in getting the PROTECT Our Children Act signed into law, which will increase funding so federal and state agencies can rescue more children."

Thanks Heidi, for spreading the word!
