Tulare County, California says it "will eliminate 55 jobs in its Child Welfare Services division because of a $2 million cut in state funds," reports the Fresno Bee.

"These are real people and these are real jobs," says County Supervisor Phil Cox.  I'm angry at the state continuing to pass on its misfortunes to us. I'm sick and tired of having to tell people I know that you no longer have a job."

The Tulare Child Welfare Services division has a caseload of 1,500 children.
