Michigan ICAC Starts November Right Print E-mail
Sunday, 09 November 2008 19:00
The Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force started November off right: arresting three child predators the first day, taking the place of children who would have otherwise become crime victims.

On Nov. 1st, a suspect from Allen Park was arrested on coercion and enticement charges after allegedly communicating with an undercover officer he thought was a child. Later, a Northville suspect was arrested in Macomb County, where he had arranged to meet a minor child for sexual activity. In Plainview, a suspect who reportedly had used his computer to communicate "child sexually abusive activity" to an undercover detective, was arrested and then arraigned the following day.

Detective Lt. Tom Kish, Michigan State Police (MSO) Computer Crimes Unit, said, "The Michigan State Police and the Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force are among the computer crimes units across the state working to combat child pornography and exploitation every day... we are making an impact on this growing problem statewide."

PROTECT is taking Alicia's Law to Michigan in 2009. Stay tuned for campaign updates.
