Child predators come in many forms

CNN.com reports that a children's author was sentenced to six years in prison recently for possessing child pornography. The Portland, Oregon author was found to have a large collection of photographs and video clips that included "very young children" and depicted "sadistic conduct, rape, sodomy and bestiality."

As child advocates and guardians, we must maintain constant vigilance over the children in our lives because as we can see from this child author's diverse resume that includes volunteering at the Beverly Cleary Children's Library, receiving a master's degree and working as a field hand, factory laborer, musician, editor and teacher -- child predators come in many forms.
