Well known attorney charged with possession and distribution of child pornography |

The suspect was arrested at his downtown Victoria, TX law firm. He has been indicted on 7 counts of distributing child pornography and 4 counts of possession. The well known attorney served as the county Democratic Party Chairman and resigned after his arrest.
Participation in child pornography crimes knows no socio-economic boundaries. Suspects come from across the whole of our society. Community members and associates are usually surprised and shocked when someone they thought they knew is arrested on allegations of child pornography possession and distribution.
Regarding this case, the Victoria Advocate quotes the Texas Democratic Party spokesperson: “These are deadly serious charges. Anyone convicted of these charges should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.”
Other comments quoted are more troubling:
- “To me, it’s not so much a political story as a personal one.”
- “I’m surprised. It’s a very unfortunate situation. There’s no political consequence, it’s just an unfortunate personal situation.”
- “The party is much bigger than one person. We have important work to do here in Victoria. With the challenges facing Victoria, this one pales in comparison.”
The indictment was the result of an investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement and Homeland Security as part of Operation Predator.
