Boy scout leader says too much Print E-mail

Judge Melissa Goodwin was having a tough time deciding between probation and prison for a Boy Scout leader who preyed on kids... until he opened his mouth. KVUE News in Austin, Texas reports that Martin Turner, 64, was sentenced to five years behind bars for sexually abusing minors. "I have waited for 30 years," said one victim, "to have the opportunity  that I had in court today to confront Martin Turner and take back what he took away from me, which is my self esteem and my dignity."

If Turner had a chance to talk his way out of jail, he seems to have blown it. "Instead of addressing his victims, Turner started thanking people like his wife, and others who had testified as character witnesses on his behalf. One of Turner's victims... said it was as if Turner was accepting an award....

"Judge Goodwin agreed."
