Houston, Texas, police have arrested a pilot from Minnesota, who was charged with two counts of online solicitation of a child. The suspect arranged to meet a 12-year-boy, while employing what he thought to be a fool-proof way to make sure the child was not really an undercover officer.

The suspect, 28, asked the boy to send him a picture of him doing something identifiable, such as holding up a distinctive sign or wearing a specific color T-shirt. Authorities are not saying exactly what the suspect asked the boy to do to identify himself.

During the arraignment, prosecutors alleged that the suspect had been sending sexually explicit text messages to the boy since the fall.

Police report that the suspect was visibly shocked when he found deputies waiting for him at the boy’s home, especially since the boy had sent the requested picture. His teacher had observed the boy texting on his BlackBerry during class. The teacher notified authorities after reading some of the messages.
