West Virginia is stepping up for children Print E-mail

PROTECT was in West Virginia earlier this month with Sheriff Mike Brown, his wife Dr. Janet Brown and members of the West Virginia State Police's Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force.

After an internal briefing for the Superintendent of the WV State Police, Timothy S. Pack and WV Governor, Joe Manchin, they were both so outraged by the crimes being committed against children in their state and the lack of resources committed to combat it that they rushed to get much needed resources for the unit.

WV ICAC is now at the forefront of this war against child predators. Not only have they ramped up and put more boots on the ground to investigate and prosecute child pornography offenders, but they have also added child interviewers to their online team to ensure that hands-on offenders won't escape criminal prosecution.

PROTECT will be working closely with the WV ICAC and the WV State Police and will keep you updated.
